Spurge of the Devil.

Whilst I was mowing the lawn tonight, I noticed with glee that all the spurge had died. At last I've found the correct time and the the correct mixture to spray on this indsidious weed to kill it. The stuff has infested our lawn for the past two years, but this time I got it. [monty burns]eeee-xcellent[/monty burns]

Schiavo's parents have lost it.

Bob and Mary Schindler have today disputed the results of the autopsy on their daughter, insisting she interacted with them and tried to speak. Their attorney said the family plans to discuss the autopsy with other medical experts and may take some unspecified legal action.
So now her parents, apparently, are self-proclaimed medical experts. On top of that, they've convinced Jeb Bush to push for an investigation into why she collapsed 15 years ago, claiming her husband took 70 minutes to call 911.
Ok - look, it's upsetting that Terry Schiavo died the way she did, but her parents have go to understand the reality of the situation. She wasn't reacting, she was blind and brain-dead. No amount of therapy was ever going to bring her back. Her quality of life was zero, nil, nothing. In fact, her parents could be considered to have subjected her to a cruel and unusual existance, forcing her to stay alive for 15 years after she should have died.

That's 4 in 5 days

Another earthquake - 6.7 off the coast of Eureka, California, only 10km down this time. Seriously - California residents - leave, now, while you have the chance.
It puts it a bit more in perspective when its somewhere that you know about - we stayed in Eureka a couple of years ago on our drive from Seattle to SFO.

Get out of California now....

3rd earthquake in 4 days in Cali. A 5.3 shaker 12km under San Bernadino. Lasted 10-15 seconds.

Use your brain (dammit!)

What happened to common decency and the ability to think properly and use your brain? It seems that more and more people now simply use their brain to figure out how to breathe, eat, and stop their knuckles dragging on the ground. People are stupid.
No - people have become more stupid than ever. Retards driving like octagenarians. Shop assistants that can't figure out change or understand what you're saying. People who just stop in the middle of the pavement for no reason, normally when it's crowded.
There seems to have been a dramatic decrease in the ability of people to be polite - not a lot of P's and Q's flying around now.
It's frightening, it really is. To see the 18-21-year-olds today makes me shudder. I'm only 35 but it seems like an aeon ago that I was that age. These zombies can't add 2 and 2 or string together more than three words without a 'dude', 'umm', 'ah', 'y'know' or 'uh'. It's like talking to a cabbage patch doll!
Seriously. How difficult is it to calculate the change from $6 when the bill was $5.75? It's a GodDamn quarter! Use your FUCKING BRAINS!!!!!!

Terri Shiavo

Finally the autopsy on Terri Schiavo has been performed and the results were published today. They back up her husband's contention that she was in a persistent vegetative state, finding that she had massive and irreversible brain damage and was blind. Her brain weighed 615 grams, roughly half of the expected weight of a human brain. The damage was irreversible, and no amount of therapy or treatment would have regenerated the massive loss of neurons. The autopsy also found no evidence that she was strangled or otherwise abused.

Oddly, her parents, who had demonised Michael Shiavo for years on TV and in the press for wanting to euthanise her, weren't available for comment today. Strange, that. Guess they couldn't handle the obvious truth - the thing that everyone else saw years ago.

Such a shame her parents meddled and interfered so much that she wasn't allowed to die with any dignity. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Of course The White House says today's autopsy report doesn't change "President" B*sh's view on the case. He still thinks Americans should "stand on the side of defending life." If that was the case, she could have been kept in that zombie state until she died naturally. Which I'm sure would have been tortorous for her. It seems B*sh and a lot of other people aren't open to the debate on what constitutes quality of life. In B*sh's case though, that's no surprise given what he's done to the quality of life of the average Iraqi. Lets not forget that suicide bombings and terrorist attacks were almost unheard of in Iraq before 2002.

Ho hum.

The pacific plate is shifting again.

Two days ago, a 7.9 earthquake in Northern Chile, and a 5.2 in southern California. Tonight a 7.2 off the north coast of California. Last week the Volcano of Fire blew its top in Mexico's subduction zone.
The pacific plate is on the move. I'd be worried if I lived in San Francisco about now.

Rumsfeld still doesn't get it.

Warmonger Donald Rumsfeld has acknowledged that security in Iraq has "not improved statistically since Saddam Hussein's fall in 2003."

He's quick to catch on. But then he pissed it all away by telling the same reporters that he still believed the insurgency would be toppled and that Iraqi security forces would be able to go their job properly.

Ho hum.

Dream on boyo. There wouldn't be an "insurgency" if you hadn't invaded their country.

Michael Jackson innocent.

CNN just dropped spam in my inbox - Michael Jackson has been found innocent on all 10 charges against him. I have to say I'm glad. I know he's weird and all, but I don't think he's a kiddy-fiddler.
