Why? Do they seriously believe that their own G4 channel, with its talentless pre-pubescent presenters and heinously out-of-date programming, it's seriously flawed design and truly unfunny programming are a replacement for TechTV?
Or is this just a simple case of "because we can" ?
I was seriously pissed off with Comcast when I was a cable subscriber - continually charging me for channels I didn't have, (and their customer service people always argued the fact with me on the phone until I forced them to do a service check). They even managed to bill me for three months after we moved and left Comcast. And now they're dicking with my programming by getting rid of TechTV? What the hell? Can these idiots not leave anything well enough alone? They overcharge, they've got lousy customer service, their billing system is seriously flawed, and apparently, they've all taken collective leave of their senses now by firing TechTV. The lot of them should be put in an insance asylum.
G4 had spotty, ugly, talentless morons presenting to an audience of about 10 million with about 10 hours of new programming a month and no live shows.
TechTV has babes like Sarah Lane and Morgan Webb, and tech-savvy people like Leo Laporte, presenting to about 43.5million people with live shows every day that are up-to-date and relevant.
And Comcast believe that "merging" the two channels by firing the presenters of the better channel is going to win them the extra 43.5 million viewers?
Au contraire - what will happen is they will lose 43.5 million viewers and hopefully be bombarded with email about this truly pathetic decision. Here's a link to the Comcast feedback form although I seriously doubt they'll take any notice.
Here's the online petition to get Comcast to reverse their decision.
You Comcast people are retarded.. This is for your bosses: you bought a perfectly well-working tech information channel and now you're ripping it up in favour of G4? An insipid no-viewer channel whose content appeals to .1% of the population. Tech TV had some class and wide appeal among "Computer" not just gaming users.
